Upcoming Webinar

We invite you to join a virtual meeting / discussion of the Action on:

Friday, August 29, at 14:15 CET

Seminar
Speaker:  Claire Cisowski, University of Glasgow.
Title: Topology in structured light.
Abstract: Tailoring light in its phase, intensity, and polarisation degrees of freedom has fuelled fundamental advances and applications alike. Since its early days, structured light has distinguished itself from conventional beams of light by exhibiting rich topological properties, explored through the study of optical singularities. In this presentation, I will review the fundamentals of structured light and present two examples where topology has shaped structured light research. These include the generation of paraxial skyrmion beams and the pursuit of phase holonomies in optics.

Discussion
Following the seminar, we will discuss:
- Planned events until the end of the current year (ending October 2025)
- Planning of events for the next year (November 2025 – October 2026)
