  • Working Group 2 Workshop on Variational Methods for Topological Patterns Arising in Physics

    Location:
    Rome, Italy

    Date: 25-28 November 2025

    Type: Face-to-face

Aim: This workshop focuses on mathematical approaches to topological patterns in physical systems such as liquid crystals, superconductors, and ferromagnets, emphasizing analytical and variational methods.

  • Working Group 3 Workshop on 3D Topological Textures at Surfaces and Interfaces

    Location:
    Karlsruhe, Germany

    Date: 11-12 December 2025

    Type: Face-to-face

Aim: This two-day workshop explores how surfaces and interfaces affect the formation and stability of 3D topological textures such as hopfions, vortex lines, and skyrmion strings, combining theoretical, numerical, and experimental perspectives.

  • Working Group 1 Meeting on Topological Quantum Systems in Real and Momentum Space and Beyond

    Location:
    Birmingham, UK

    Date: 21-23 April 2026

    Type: Face-to-face

Aim:The meeting will explore the relations between real-space and momentum-space topology and topological textures.

  • Workshop on “Topological Textures: Experiment, Theory, Simulation, and Mathematical Analysis”

    Location:
    Iasi, Romania

    Date: 15-18 June 2026

    Type: Face-to-face

Aim: This workshop is open to all Action participants, researchers who plan to join the Action, and researchers who may benefit from the expertise within the network. It will feature experimental, theoretical, numerical, and mathematical presentations and discussions. Leading researchers will be invited, and a poster session will also be included.

Mobility of Researchers and Innovators

  • Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM) grants

    Description:
Approx. 12 STSM grants. Mobilities with priority to YRI, visits to and from ITC, connecting different disciplines or laboratories active in different physical systems, and acquiring expertise in topics with significant potential.

STSMs

Presentations at Conferences

  • ITC Conference grants

    Description:
Will mainly be used for large European meetings and they will be awarded to YRIs with good scientific output in main topics of the Action area. A balance between Physics and Mathematics will be sought. Transfer techniques and ideas between the disciplines.

  • YRI Conference grants

    Description:
YRI Conference grant funds a presentation (poster/oral presentation) of their own work by a Young Researcher andInnovator (YRI) in a high-level conference fully organized by a third party, i.e. not organized nor co-organized by POLYTOPO.
