Title: Non-Hermitian Topology in Quantum-Optical atomic lattices
Abstract: Topological phases of light are usually studied in effectively classical platforms. Here we move toward the quantum regime in intrinsically non-Hermitian settings using driven cooperatively responding atoms, with long-range, dissipative photon-mediated couplings. We provide a combined and consistent characterisation of topology of an experimentally realistic system in both momentum space and real space, allowing a direct link between infinite-lattice band topology and finite-system real-space behaviour.
