Scope

The WG1 Meeting will focus on the links between real-space topology, momentum-space topology, and topological textures. This is a core theme within the Action, and the meeting is designed to strengthen the Action’s expertise in momentum-space textures, where currently only a few Action members are specialists. By connecting with the strong UK-based community in momentum-space topology, the meeting aims to build sustained collaborations and accelerate knowledge transfer.
Planned outputs include: (i) establishing new contacts between researchers working on real-space and momentum-space topological textures, and (ii) acquiring expertise on momentum-space topological textures and their connections to real-space phenomena.

The meeting forms part of a broader programme, including the PhD training day on 20 April, sponsored by the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Topological Design and a mini-workshop (23–24 April) sponsored by the Institute of Physics (IOP). Please note that these associated events will have separate registration processes, information about which will be available in due course."
Find out more about the IOP mini-workshop here.

Target Groups

  • COST Action members (expected to be around half of the participants)
  • UK and international researchers with strong expertise in momentum-space topology/textures (including invited speakers)
  • Researchers working on real-space topological textures seeking connections to momentum-space approaches
  • Early-career researchers and PhD students
