Title: Magnetic hopfions: leveraging three-dimensional topology for novel applications
Abstract: Magnetic hopfions - three-dimensional topological solitons in magnets - represent a powerful paradigm shift from conventional two-dimensional textures like skyrmions and vortices. Currently, the study of these unique textures is rapidly transitioning from a fundamental research domain to an applied technological field. This work reviews recent advancements focusing on establishing stable hopfion morphologies, quantifying their topological invariants, and exploring electrically and optically assisted nucleation pathways.
