Title: Dynamics of Ferroelectric Vortices in Nanostructured Superlattices
Abstract: Linear dynamical properties of experimentally realizable ferroelectric vortex superlattice structures have been studied. In particular, a finite PTO/STO layer sequence deposited onto DSO substrate, as well as a PTO layer sandwiched between two electrodes, have been considered. In these structures, a linear perturbation analysis shows a gapless spectrum with a Goldstone mode lowest branch that is associated with uniform longitudinal oscillations of vortex cores, while the upper branches refer to transversal counter motions of neighboring vortex cores. At the same time, a novel structure of electrode/PTO/Air has been proposed, where a gap is formed at lower frequencies. It is argued that these findings could be useful in a number of applications utilizing linear and nonlinear properties of vortex lattices.
