Scope

Systems hosting topological textures are modelled by spatially varying order parameters, but different parameters, with associated effective dynamics, can be useful on different levels of description. By redefining the order parameter, singular objects can be understood as continuous textures. The method of description has important consequences on the interaction of topology and stability. This meeting aims to discuss the suitability of different order parameters (in different physical systems) for the description of continuous and singular topological textures.
