Title: Exploring the Moduli Space Metric of Excited Abelian-Higgs Vortices
Abstract: In this talk, we explore the corrections to the moduli space metric of a single vortex due to the excitation of its radially symmetric shape mode. We show that these corrections lead to a nonzero contribution to the shape mode when the vortex moves with a constant velocity. However, due to the radial symmetry of the vortex and its shape mode, our effective model does not fully reproduce the expected Lorentz contraction. To recover the correct behavior within the framework of a collective model, we introduce the Derrick mode associated with the vortex. This study provides new insights into the dynamics of vortices and their moduli space in relativistic contexts.
